With the advances in technology it seems as is anyone can post an opinion or idea on the web today and at times receive instant credit or be deemed as an expert on the topic. One of my favorite stories is from Plato’s Phaedrus. In Phaedrus, the god Theuth boasts of his invention of writing and how it would better the word and man… ( bear in mind I am paraphrasing). King Thamus responds to this claim by stating that “the discover of an art is not the best judge of the good or harm it will cause”. “The risk is that people will only receive a quantity of the information without proper instruction and consequently be thought to be an expert on the topic, when they are for the most part quite ignorant.”
As old as this dialogue is, it still rings a tone of truth. Within this blog you won’t find an expert or someone who posts the absolute final answer. What you will find, is an individual who has over 15 years of industry experience in multi-media design, graphic art and application development. My intent with my blog is not to be another rant or technology blog written with the intent to say “here’s how smart I am..”. No, my intent is to offer to anyone interested, insight into the things I’ve learned and continue to learn throughout the years in a clear and concise manner in the hopes that you will gain a little more knowledge on something that we share as a common interest.
And for those of you who could care less about code or technology… well, move along.
